A Hollywood High School football player died yesterday afternoon after being hospitalized when he collapsed during Friday night's game against West Adams Prep, according to LA Now. The student was part of the school's freshman-sophomore team, and, according to personnel from the opposing team, he "was jogging back to the sideline and collapsed with about two minutes left in the game." Paramedics transported the teenager to Children's Hospital Los Angeles, however he died at around 3 p.m. Saturday.

A LAUSD spokesperson did not provide details of the player's injuries or identity, and said counselors will be available on campus today and Monday.
