There are many reasons not to drink and drive, but one of them is that you could get pulled over or caught at a DUI checkpoint. The LAPD sent out three locations for their DUI and driver's license checkpoints for the weekend plus a notice about a DUI saturation patrol.

There will be a DUI saturation patrol all over the Hollywood area tonight, Friday April 12, from 6 pm until 2 am.

There will be a DUI and driver's license checkpoint at Slauson Avenue and Buckler Avenue from 8 pm until 2 am Friday.

In the Northwest, there will be another checkpoint at Eagle Rock Boulevard and El Paso Drive from 8 pm until 2 am Friday.

The third checkpoint will be on Saturday, April 13 at Manchester Avenue and Hoover Street from 6 pm until 12 am.

It seems counterintuitive, but police say that announcing checkpoints actually reduces the number of drunk drivers on the road.
