Grey is the New Red
LAist Featured Photos contributor discarted submits these two below photos and asks "Can anyone figure out the whims of the Parking Enforcement these days? For months, years even, they've ignored this "grey" space, but then all of the sudden they decided it's illegal to park here, citing it as a "red zone." This is not even close to a red zone - am I missing something?" No discarted, you did not miss anything.
Our best guess is that the parking enforcement officer missed a button or misread the citation before serving it. It appears, but we could be wrong, two violations are present in this photo. 1. The vehicle appears to be parked 18-inches away from the curb. 2. It appears the car is parked too close to a driveway or cross street. Both are illegal. However, fight it. You were not cited for those two offenses, but you were cited for something bogus. Fight it and let us know what happens.
