Get Involved: Big Sunday is This Weekend

Los Angeles, it is time to roll up your sleeves, and pitch in. From getting down and dirty (in community and school gardens) to using some old fashioned elbow grease (to clean up communities) there are hundreds of opportunities to do some big time good as part of Big Sunday this weekend. Once again, volunteer brigades all over the city will take on tasks aimed at improving where and how we live.Volunteers need to sign up in advance for available projects, which take place and involve helping out at senior centers, libraries, schools, dog parks, animal shelters, community centers, and much more. The projects include clean-ups, refurbishing, planting, cooking, and hands-on helping.
Other ways to help but not take part in a project include hosting a fundraising Lemonade Stand or donating goods ahead of the weekend. The Big Sunday site has all the info you need, as well as the answers to your FAQs.
