The good folks at the New York City based blog, ANIMAL, have let us use this photo to share with you. Welcome to American Apparel owner Dov Charney's supposed front doorstep in Silver Lake (maybe Hollywood Hills actually). Now this is one way you can greet visitors to your home.

"Whether this monument acts as the magical source of Dov's panty-dropping power or if it's just an insightful look into his taste in art is anybody's guess, but one thing's for sure, it's direct geographical positioning sends a strong message straight to the heart of Downtown LA," ANIMAL writes. They have another photo of the statue on their post.

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Instead, we answer to you and our connected community. We are free to tell the full truth, to hold power to account without fear or favor, and to follow facts wherever they lead. Our only loyalty is to our audiences and our mission: to inform, engage, and strengthen our community.

Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive from readers like you will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
