Former L.A. City Commissioner AKA 'BoyWonderUSA' Indicted By Federal Grand Jury on Kiddie Porn Charges

A former city commissioner, who at one point discussed running for a seat on the Los Angeles City Council, has been indicted by a federal grand jury on kiddie porn charges.Albert Abrams, 63, the former head of the neighborhood city commission, surrendered to FBI agents this morning after being named in an eight-count indictment, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney's Office:
The indictment charges Abrams with five counts of distributing child pornography. According to an affidavit in support of a search warrant executed at Abrams’ residence last summer, authorities looking into a peer-to-peer file-sharing network were able to download more than 150 videos and images depicting child pornography from a computer that was located at Abrams’ house. The indictment further charges Abrams with two counts of receipt of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.
Abrams is scheduled to be arraigned downtown this afternoon. If he is convicted on all counts, he faces a minimum of five years in prison and a statutory maximum of 150 years.Abrams resigned from his position as a city commissioner after his computer was confiscated during an FBI raid this August. Investigators say that Abrams was part of an international "members only" child pornography network called "Dreamboard," which allowed members to swap sexually explicit images of children under the age of 12. Abrams' handle was BoyWonderUSA. Abrams didn't deny the allegations—instead he blamed it on his "split personality."
