More LA spots to try
  • In-N-Out makes burgers beloved by many, but they also have a rep for making sure no one else makes a burger like them--or at least calls it by the same name. Famously protective of their menu and aesthetics, the SoCal chain has asked a nearly 40-year-old Manhattan Beach eatery to take the burger they're calling a Double Double off their menu.
  • Lords and Ladies of Los Angeles, prepare to feast and fall back a few hundred years in time at a new theme restaurant opening in Downtown, right across from "ye olde Staples Center," as Grub Street L.A. puts it.
  • Spoons up, and wallets away: It's time to celebrate National Frozen Yogurt Day! You can score some FREE froyo at all Los Angeles locations of Yogurtland today. Sweet!
  • The collective of street food vendors who used to operate as the Breed Street Food Fair were forced to close down in 2009, but several of the vendors are hoping to resume operations legally in Boyle Heights at a planned evening farmers' market.
  • Valentine's Day is fast approaching, and the concept of "romance" is being pummeled into us all from every possible front, including where we eat. Now OpenTable has released a list of the 100 Most Romantic Restaurants in America, and five Los Angeles-area spots made the grade.
  • Burger lovers from behind the Orange Curtain, it's your time to shine! A Banh mi burger, fare from a favorite SoCal chain, the concoction of a gastropub... All's fair in love and the all mighty hamburger wars, including in the OC.
