Truth matters. Community matters. Your support makes both possible. LAist is one of the few places where news remains independent and free from political and corporate influence. Stand up for truth and for LAist. Make your year-end tax-deductible gift now.

Valentine's Day is fast approaching, and the concept of "romance" is being pummeled into us all from every possible front, including where we eat. Now OpenTable has released a list of the 100 Most Romantic Restaurants in America, and five Los Angeles-area spots made the grade.

The list uses 5 million diners' reviews to determine which restaurants make eaters swoon in their seats. Representing L.A. are: Il Cielo Gardens Restaurant & Bar in Beverly Hills, Yamashiro in Hollywood, Sir Winston's Aboard The Queen Mary in Long Beach, The Sky Room in Long Beach, and The Little Door in Los Angeles.

It seems the romance nod goes for themed decor, unique views, or quaint charm--or some combination thereof.

Of course, romance is what you make of it at mealtime, from a simple picnic in the park with your honey to staring into each others' eyes over a Korean BBQ grill, and, sure, even at a cozy table for two in a fancy restaurant.

There are a ton of other romantic L.A. restaurants, though, like Cicada, Providence, Cliff's Edge, The Roof on Wilshire, Café Pinot, Lucques, or any number of snug bistros in neighborhoods all over town, any of which could have easily found a home on this list.

So, lovers, we ask: What table for two gets your vote for "most romantic" in L.A.?

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Instead, we answer to you and our connected community. We are free to tell the full truth, to hold power to account without fear or favor, and to follow facts wherever they lead. Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive before year-end will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
