'Game Of Thrones' Beers And A Costume Party Are Coming To The Arts District

Brace yourself, there's a Game Of Thrones party coming to the Arts District next week. While we may be busy dodging spoilers from HBO's epic series while season six is filmed, fans of the show can at least put on their best Westeros outfit and drink delicious craft beer inspired by the series. Next Thursday, Villains Tavern in the Arts District will host a special Game Of Thrones-themed beer release party from New York's Ommegang brewery. The evening will include a costume contest, live music and giveaways.
If you haven't tried Ommegang's Game Of Thrones beers, this will be your chance as they're doing a special re-release of their Iron Throne Blonde Ale and Take the Black Stout, as well as the delicious Three-Eyed-Raven Saison. All the beers will be available on tap, along with other hits from the brewery like Gnomegang, Triskel Hennepin (a very limited edition dry-hopped saison), Abbey Ale, and 2014 GABF Silver Medal Winner Witte. There's also a commemorative Game of Thrones beer glass and a VIP gift bag for the first 100 people who RSVP on their Facebook event page.
Guests are encouraged to come to the party wearing a Game Of Thrones-inspired costume as there will be a costume contest later in the evening—though we wouldn't recommend going with the Cersei Lannister walk of shame look. There will also be bands playing, and while Ommegang's Facebook page says there will be opportunities to sit on an Iron Throne, sadly, HBO has just nixed the plan as they don't want the throne outdoors on Villains' patio. Come on HBO, don't lose your head over it, it hardly ever rains here.
Admission to the event is free. The beer is not.
Villains Tavern is located at 1356 Palmetto St, Art's District, (323) 637-4153

LAist has been there for you and we’re asking you to be here for us.
We rely on donations from readers like you to stay independent, which keeps our nonprofit newsroom strong and accountable to you.
