Holy balls, ya'll! It's hot out there. We couldn't possibly think of a better day for some ice cream. But wait, there's even better choice out there than a cold cone. Free ice cream sandwiches.

This afternoon CoolHaus is passing out free sammies at two locations, CBS Studio City from 3-5 p.m. and LACMA from 1-2 p.m.

They're doling out the free ice cream sandwiches to help promote some ridiculously cheap flights that Allegiant Airlines is offering to Hawaii. They'll be made from coconut almond chip cookies with banana ice cream.

Of course, if you can't make it out that way you could always grab one of these international ice treats around town.

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Instead, we answer to you and our connected community. We are free to tell the full truth, to hold power to account without fear or favor, and to follow facts wherever they lead. Our only loyalty is to our audiences and our mission: to inform, engage, and strengthen our community.

Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive from readers like you will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
