What's Your Favorite L.A. Farmers' Market?
Are you a loyal Sunday morning shopper at the venerable Hollywood Farmers' Market? Or do you pick your produce with some of the city's top chefs Wednesdays in Santa Monica? Whether you're already attached to a newbie market, like those at The Autry, The Sunset Strip, or Altadena, or a fan of some veteran spots like the one in Studio City, America wants to know what your favorite farmers' market is.
A summer-long contest run by American Farmland Trust is looking for people to cast online votes for their favorite farmers' market. Voting starts at 9 a.m. Pacific time on Friday June 22, and ends at 9 p.m. Pacific time on September 3.
The goal of the contest is to promote the role that farmers markets play in keeping family farmers on the land, explains American Farmland Trust.
We're definitely big fans of supporting local farmers and farmers market, and have profiled many of our favorite markets in our Know Your Farmers' Market series, and recipes for what's in season in our Seasonal Eats series.
