Billionaire Warren Buffet is bringing some sweet treats to the auction table this year. The 82-year-old owner of the Berkshire company is offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the winner to take a Willy Wonka-esque tour of the See's Candy Factory here in L.A.
We were lucky enough to take a tour of the factory earlier this year, and can vouch that it's an incredible experience. Of course the real draw for bidders is that they might get a chance to pick the brain of the man and mogul himself.
Says the Mercury News:
Bidding had already reached $30,000 by Monday, but it remains to be seen whether the final price of this auction will rival the annual auction of lunch with Buffett which routinely tops $1 million...
Buffett says he'll teach the auction winner the proper way to eat a bonbon during the half-day tour. Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway conglomerate has owned See's Candy since 1972, and he spends hours munching on See's treats while answering questions at Berkshire's annual meetings.
The online auction that runs through Aug. 13 will benefit Communities In Schools of Los Angeles. It is being offered on the
charitybuzz.com website.
