Video: Two Locals Explain How to Make a Ham Daiquiri, The Bloody Bacon & Cheese and The McNuggetini

Who knew? Make an unassuming cocktail how-to for some of the most vile drinks known in the history of the world while keeping a smart, cool and sophisticated vibe and you might just gain some notoriety.

That's what's happening to two Los Angeles-based friends, Alie Ward and Georgia Hardstark, who were profiled in the New York Times today, are fielding questions from Playboy, having taste tests with Hoda Kotb of "Today" and may soon be featured in a Good Food video by KCRW's Evan Kleiman.

So far, they've produced three videos--the above for the McNuggetini--and below are the Ham Daiquiri and The Bloody Bacon & Cheese. Next up for them? We recommend a swanky downtown bar with these two as the chief mixologists.

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Instead, we answer to you and our connected community. We are free to tell the full truth, to hold power to account without fear or favor, and to follow facts wherever they lead. Our only loyalty is to our audiences and our mission: to inform, engage, and strengthen our community.

Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive from readers like you will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
