The World Food Championships will take place this weekend in Las Vegas, bringing with it a high stakes prize of $300,000 worth of prizes for the winner. Satellite competitions in bbq, chili, burgers, sandwiches, and side dishes will take place leading up to the main event, where a final champion will be crowned and awarded a whopping $75 K.

The event will be hosted by the Travel Channel's Adam Richman, and other culinary celebs will be in attendance too, like Kerry Heffernan of "Top Chef Masters," former Bon Appetit editor Barbara Fairchild, "The Next Iron Chef: Redemption" competitor Eric Greenspan, and "Bitchin' Kitchen" host Nadia Giosia.

The festivities start today and go through the weekend. If you're interested in heading out to Vegas to attend, check out the site for more details.
