As if we needed another reason to love Snoop Dogg, aka Snoop Lion. Not only does the native Angeleno love BBQ as much we do, but he's also a community garden enthusiast that's looking to help L.A. communities grow their own food.

His Mind Garden project, which is a collaboration with local soda producer Reed's, is hoping that their homegrown effort will help four community gardens thrive.

They are hosting an "Adopt-A-Garden" contest running through next Wednesday, August 21, where the spaces will be awarded funds based on the votes the receive on Facebook.

Little Green Fingers, L.A. CAN Rooftop Garden, EnrichLA Community Garden and Walter Reed Middle School are the local gardens in L.A. up for consideration, eligible for either first ($2,000), second ($1,000), third ($500) or fourth ($250) place.
