Size Does Matter: Where You Can Get a Free Meal, If You're Taller Than The Chef [UPDATED]

This is quite possibly one of the strangest restaurant promotions we've ever had grace our inbox (and we get plenty). One local restaurant boasts a really tall chef, and in order to...well, we're not sure what...besides fill his place with his peers*, if you are taller than him, your meal is free. The "Taller than the Chef" promo is at BierBeisl, and is happening just for the month of July. It's pretty simple, and yet probably applies to just a precious few. Here's how their PR team put it for us:
We’re Looking for a Few Big Men…
AT 6’7”, BierBeisl Chef/Owner Bernhard Mairinger has a great offer for the really BIG men in Los Angeles.
If you are taller than Bernhard, you can enjoy a free meal during the month of July.
A few simple rules apply:
Official measurement (without shoes) done in restaurant,
One free meal per person during the month,
Meal is Entrée and Dessert (guest choice); does not include beer or wine.
Maybe the Lakers or the Clippers can enjoy a post-season schnitzel on the house. Ladies, we're looking into whether this applies to you, too.
*UPDATE: We checked with BierBeisl's PR team, and they told us that Mairinger happens to have a great sense of humor, which is what this promo is about. "We always joked about Bernhard hitting his head on the entrance to the kitchen and what's it's like being so tall..so it just evolved," the promo's genesis was explained to us. And, ladies: YES, if you are taller than the chef, your meal is on the house, too.
