Shave the Date: Kings Row Hosts Meals to Kick Off Movember
Hipsters rejoice! Movember is on the horizon, bringing with it your official excuse to forego grooming. (The purpose of the month is actually to raise awareness and funds in the name of mens' health awareness, namely for prostate cancer.) To kick off Movember, Kings Row in Pasadena will be hosting a pig roast and last shave on Thursday, November 1.
For the festivities, 18 | 8, a men’s salon located at the Paseo in Pasadena, will be giving complimentary shaves on the King's Row patio, and Eagle Rock Brewery will provide the brew. As if that didn't sound manly enough, there'll also be a pig roasting on a spit.
All proceeds from the roast ($15) and the proceeds from their monthly sales of "cheesy balls" platter, comprised of a combination of meatballs, beer cheese sauce, roasted Brussels sprouts and crispy onions ($13), will donated to Movember. The restaurant will also be selling $10 commemorative Movember mugs for charity -- filled with beer, of course -- and the glasses can be brought back to Kings Row all month long to receive $1 off your pour.
The Shave the Date Kick-off Party starts at 6:30 p.m., wich complimentary shaves available til 8:00 p.m. Please RSVP to via email if you'd like to partake in the shave.
