PlaceInvaders' Traveling Pop-Up Dinners Are Returning To L.A.

Back in June, PlaceInvaders—a traveling pop-up brunch and dinner held in gorgeous homes—made its way over to Los Angeles for the first time. And now, folks, they're coming back.
Katie Smith-Adair and Hagan Blount, the couple who helms the New York-based pop-up, have been traveling all summer with their food and drink-filled event, even serving meals up in Portland, Oregon. They'll be returning to our city from October 16 to 18.
Tickets for their brunch and dinner services are still available for a couple of dates, and those go for $75 to $125, respectively. That will get you a five-course, home-cooked meal, unlimited cocktails and wine pairings, and a chance to hang out in a beautiful private residence that you normally wouldn't get access to. This time it's in an architectural icon in downtown L.A. that has "views forever," Smith-Adair tells LAist.
The way it works is that the location is kept secret until a day or two before the event date. You'll then get directions to the home, where you'll mingle with other guests over cocktails and wine. Then you sit down at a long table and have a lovely, long meal over drinks and conversations. Chef Blount will be cooking the dishes in the kitchen while you dine. It's cozy, just like you're at a friend's house.
LAist was invited to one of PlaceInvaders' June dinners, and enjoyed a rather delicious spread of Sriracha-broiled oysters and honey-glazed salmon topped with crispy chicharron, among other things. They're always mixing up their menus, so you very well may be trying something different this go around.
You can buy tickets, which are sold in pairs, here.
