Personally, Famous Cupcakes from Valley Village (now in Beverly Hills, too) takes the cake when it comes to best cupcakes in Los Angeles. It's not about buzz or the crazy themed flavors, it's the cake part. Everyone can do frosting, but the true test is the cake part. Is it moist? Full of flavor? Could you eat it without the frosting? That's just me, though.

Today is National Cupcake Day and as we asked you on Sunday, what is your favorite cupcake shop? Crumbs is an obvious favorite for a lot of people (and yes, we definitely understand why: peppermint hot chocolate flavor, anyone?). Sprinkles has a dominating presence (come on, they have a Twittering truck!). Then there are the more neighborhood bakeries like Delilah's in Echo Park, Se' La Vi Sweets in Sherman Oaks, Big Sugar in Studio City and, of course, Auntie Em's in Eagle Rock.

Keep the cupcake debate rolling. Let us know the best cupcakes and feel free to tell me how wrong I am about Famous, if you dare.
