Wednesday night a dinner party where the guests were all clad in white and seated at tables draped in white cloths adorned with white balloons popped up on the street in Beverly Hills. This flash-mob style gathering was the Los Angeles version of Diner En Blanc, a Paris-born event that brings people from all over town together in the civic space for a night of elegant revelry.

Guests were dispatched to shuttle bus locations all over Los Angeles, and brought in en masse to the secret location, which turned out to be Rodeo Drive.

"Le Dîner en Blanc recalls the elegance and glamour of court society, and diners engage one another knowing they are taking part in a truly magical event," explains the event's official site. While Angelenos may not be best known for their courtly deportment, the evening proved to be a visual feast. Here's a look at some scenes from this tres chic picnic.
