Venice's Superba Snack Bar Launches Superb New Lunch
Yesterday's news of a Venice lunch spot closing due to health code violations might have caused a few groans (and grumbles of disgust) from locals, but never fear. But when one door closes, another opens. In this case, that door is Superba's, the California/Italian-focused restaurant on Rose Ave, that will be launching lunch service tomorrow.
Our friends over at Grub Street sang the praises of Jason Neroni's pasta- and cold cuts-centric Superba Snack Bar last week, and the critics over at LA Weekly were soon to follow.
A unanimous favorite amongst fans is the smoked bucatini carbonara with poached egg, pancetta, black pepper, and parmesan, pictured above, and thankfully that will be on the restaurant's lunch menu, which is set to launch tomorrow. In addition to Friday lunches (11 a.m.-3 p.m.), Neroni and his team will be doing weekend brunch on Saturdays abd Sundays from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Other midday nibbles include poached eggs with green chorizo fondue on pan con tomate, quinoa pilaf, or the mole meatball sandwich with napa cabbage, cilantro and cotija.
