LudoBites 8 Announced: Welcome to the Westside!

Chef Ludo Lefebvre and the LudoBites team have just announced their 8th pop-up, and it's happening January and February, this time on the westside. LudoBites 8 will run Jan. 18-20; Jan. 23-27; Jan 30-31 & Feb. 1-3; Feb. 6-10; Feb. 13-15 & 17; and Feb. 20-22, and will be at Lemon Moon, the breakfast and lunch restaurant from Josiah Citrin (Melisse) and Raphael Lunetta (Jiraffe).
Along with the new location (and new turf--it's a first for LudoBites to trek that far west!) comes a new reservation system that is provided by UrbanSpoon.
Here's how the reservations work, per the LudoBites chief wrangler, Krissy Lefebvre:
Reservations will be given through a 24-hour lottery type entry system starting at 11am PST on January 11, 2012 and running through 10:59am PST on January 12, 2012. All reservations will be randomly assigned and requests limited to one per
valid phone number.
Don't fret if you don't score a reservation on the first day--they will have 6 walk-in seats available each night, more on the patio if weather permits, and when cancellations happen, Krissy Lefebvre tweets out the opening from her @FrenchChefWife account.
When it comes to vino, there will be a limited wine list curated by DomaineLA of five whites and five reds by the bottle and one white and one red by the carafe, but no glass pours. If you'd rather BYOB, that's cool too: Corkage is $18/bottle.
So the only mystery remaining is what the tempestuous and innovative French chef will dream up for the menu. It could be a fair guess it will include dishes inspired by his travels to do the TV show Ludo Bites America. Then again, maybe it won't. And that's half the fun!
As Editor-in-Chief of our newsroom, I’m extremely proud of the work our top-notch journalists are doing here at LAist. We’re doing more hard-hitting watchdog journalism than ever before — powerful reporting on the economy, elections, climate and the homelessness crisis that is making a difference in your lives. At the same time, it’s never been more difficult to maintain a paywall-free, independent news source that informs, inspires, and engages everyone.
Simply put, we cannot do this essential work without your help. Federal funding for public media has been clawed back by Congress and that means LAist has lost $3.4 million in federal funding over the next two years. So we’re asking for your help. LAist has been there for you and we’re asking you to be here for us.
We rely on donations from readers like you to stay independent, which keeps our nonprofit newsroom strong and accountable to you.
No matter where you stand on the political spectrum, press freedom is at the core of keeping our nation free and fair. And as the landscape of free press changes, LAist will remain a voice you know and trust, but the amount of reader support we receive will help determine how strong of a newsroom we are going forward to cover the important news from our community.
Please take action today to support your trusted source for local news with a donation that makes sense for your budget.
Thank you for your generous support and believing in independent news.
