Thanks to everyone who's sent in nominations for the 2nd annual Tournament of Cheeseburgers so far.

We’ve seen votes from all over the region, from numerous L.A. neighborhoods to Orange County, which makes us very happy.

Now, to all you procrastinators out there, who've been busy doing other things (chowing down on your favorite cheeseburger perhaps?) ... we're coming up to the deadline.

The time is now.

There are literally only a few hours left — we close the nomination round at midnight tonight (Friday, May 30).

So do your civic duty and fill in the form below.

After we've counted everything up, we'll reveal the Top 20 on Monday, June 9.

We’ll also unveil various categories such as tastiest, overall quality, best value and cheesiest.

Then you can vote on the top 20, and help pick the ultimate cheeseburger champion. You'll have till midnight on Friday June 20 to make your opinion heard.

You'll have a chance to see the champion being crowned — and try some of the highest-rated burger spots — at Smorgasburg LA on Sunday, July 20.

It will be the summer event of the season, and we can’t wait to see you there!

At LAist, we believe in journalism without censorship and the right of a free press to speak truth to those in power. Our hard-hitting watchdog reporting on local government, climate, and the ongoing housing and homelessness crisis is trustworthy, independent and freely accessible to everyone thanks to the support of readers like you.

But the game has changed: Congress voted to eliminate funding for public media across the country. Here at LAist that means a loss of $1.7 million in our budget every year. We want to assure you that despite growing threats to free press and free speech, LAist will remain a voice you know and trust. Speaking frankly, the amount of reader support we receive will help determine how strong of a newsroom we are going forward to cover the important news in our community.

We’re asking you to stand up for independent reporting that will not be silenced. With more individuals like you supporting this public service, we can continue to provide essential coverage for Southern Californians that you can’t find anywhere else. Become a monthly member today to help sustain this mission.

Thank you for your generous support and belief in the value of independent news.
