NYC's Halal Guys Are Bringing Their Gyros And Special White Sauce To SoCal
Halal Guys, the legendary NYC-based food cart purveyors of gyros drizzled in 'white sauce,' will soon have five locations open in Southern California by the end of 2015. "Oh sweet Jesus," reports a recent New York transplant. On the other hand, New York still doesn't have In-N-Out.As initially reported by restaurant industry news source FastCasual, The Halal Guys have signed a deal to bring 50 franchises to Southern California, beginning with Los Angeles and Orange counties. The rest of their plans for West Coast domination includes the counties San Luis Obispo, Kern, San Bernardino, and everything else south of them. As you wait for a location to open, Hero Shop is still serving their own lamb and rice platter in downtown L.A.
Named one of the best cheap eats in New York City by our friends at Gothamist, their Middle Eastern menu is most famous for its legendary chicken and gyro rice platter drizzled in the ever-mysterious white sauce. Although the 6th grader in all of us finds that hilariously gross, we'll take your word on it, New York.
Further plans for world domination include expansion into Washington, D.C., Houston, Malaysia, and the Philippines.
