Dear reader, we're asking you to help us keep local news available for all. Your financial support keeps our stories free to read, instead of hidden behind paywalls. We believe when reliable local reporting is widely available, the entire community benefits. Thank you for investing in your neighborhood.

We got all flavor-specific yesterday in honor of Peach Ice Cream Day. But if you didn't save room for dessert, there's still a way to celebrate today, because the third Sunday in July happens to be National Ice Cream Day. (By the way, we have President Ronald Reagan to thank for that, hence "The Gipper" reference.) Last night at Extravaganza for the Senses the nice people of MILK told us if you whisper to them you're in the know about today's "holiday" you're in for a sweet treat. There's plenty of incredible ice cream to be had around town, too, like Scoops, KindKreme, the Lake Street Creamery Truck, Paradis, and more. Where's your favorite place to get ice cream?
