Before you read more...
Dear reader, we're asking you to help us keep local news available for all. Your financial support keeps our stories free to read, instead of hidden behind paywalls. We believe when reliable local reporting is widely available, the entire community benefits. Thank you for investing in your neighborhood.

If you're on a budget, but have a voracious appetite for delicious food, today is your lucky day. The Du-Par's in the Original Farmer's Market at the Grove is turning 75 today and rolling back their diner menu to their 1938 prices on 20 menu items. That means buttermilk hotcakes for 25 cents, coffee for a nickel, hamburgers for 20 cents, and chicken pot pie for 35 cents!

CBS Los Angeles reports that owner Biff Naylor plans on serving about 4,000 pancakes.

Better get your hotcakes while they're hot.
