What could be more refreshing than an ice cold beer on a Saturday afternoon in mid-June? An ice cold vegan beer!

On Saturday June 25 the 2011 Vegan Beer Fest takes place at The Roxy on the Sunset Strip from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.

This year's offerings include beer from Stone, Hangar 24, Brouwerij West, Eagle Rock Brewery, Lost Abbey, Deschutes, Dogfish Head, Sierra Nevada and New Belgium.

Vegan edibles courtesy of Doomie's, Seabirds Truck, Mandoline Grill, Fresh Fries, The Frankenstand, Veg-it-up, Luscious Organic Desserts, and The Mad Kettler.

Still can't imagine what this is all about? Check out event cohost Quarry Girl's post from last year's fest and start licking your lips.

Tickets are available in advance right here, get you unlimited craft beer, vegan bands, food for sale from local vegan businesses and vegan food trucks all for just $40 and $50 for VIP entry at Noon ($15 for non-drinkers).

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Instead, we answer to you and our connected community. We are free to tell the full truth, to hold power to account without fear or favor, and to follow facts wherever they lead. Our only loyalty is to our audiences and our mission: to inform, engage, and strengthen our community.

Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive from readers like you will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
