Flights from LA to Snow-struck Northeast Should Resume Today

The massive winter storm that has hit the Northeastern United States hard is continuing to wreak havoc on holiday travel for thousands of people, as flights in and out of destinations all over the country continue to be canceled due to the weather. For passengers hoping to get the heck out of L.A. from Los Angeles International Airport, United, American, Delta, JetBlue and Virgin America are among the airlines that have canceled early morning flights to the blizzard-stricken New York, Philadelphia and Boston metropolitan areas," today, according to LA Now.
The New York City area has been especially hard-hit by the storm, with all three of the airports serving the region shut down since yesterday, according to MSNBC, though the airports are slated to re-open at 4 this afternoon local time, says Gothamist.
Flights out of Los Angeles to NYC should be lifting off around 11:30 a.m., if the airports there re-open as planned. The storm has also affected travel by air, rail, and road in and out of Philadelphia, Boston, and cities across the Eastern seaboard from the Carolinas to New England. Have folks in town from those places with an extra day to kill? Show off sunny Los Angeles with an outing up to Griffith Observatory, the beach, or, hey, even Disneyland!
