Echo Park landmark House of Spirits Liquor Store on Sunset Boulevard caught fire this morning, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The department first tweeted out the fire at 8:56 a.m., noting that smoke was "showing from the attic."

Images on Twitter show smoke billowing up from the building, and firefighters going after the blaze -- and simultaneously sheltering themselves from the rain under umbrellas -- from the roof.

At 9:10 a.m., LAFD updated the status of the fire and described their response, writing on their website that heavy fire was coming from the back of the building, and that firefighters were "continuing a coordinated fire attack."
