Authorities are investigating a fire and reported burglary at a Hollywood synagogue today. Workers reported the incident upon arriving at Temple Israel, 7300 W. Hollywood Blvd. (at Fuller), around 9 a.m., according to authorities. "Because it is a house of worship, we're taking every precaution to be sure we know we are not underplaying the situation," said LAPD Capt. Beatrice Girmala, according to L.A. Now.

LAPD issued put out a description labeled "suspected arson," according to WeHo Daily. It describes the suspect as a white male, 5’11″, about 180 pounds and 27 to 28 years old. He had a short groomed beard, was carrying a green backpack or duffel bag, and was wearing a dark colored beanie, dark colored t-shirt and dark jeans.

LAPD, LAFD, FBI, and ATF officials are on the scene investigating the crime, according to the AP.

Earlier this week, Ron Hirsch was arrested in Ohio, in suspicion bombing the Chabad House Jewish center in Santa Monica last Thursday.
