Fatal Accident Shuts Down 101 Freeway in Cahuenga Pass

A fatal crash caused the closure of all southbound lanes of the 101 Hollywood Freeway early this morning, according to NBC. The accident happened near Cahuenga Boulevard, and authorities believe that the initial 4:40 a.m. crash "might have triggered other crashes," and "at least three vehicle were believed to have be involved in at least two crashes." All lanes were shut down and a SigAlert issued at 5:29 this morning while California Highway Patrol officers investigated the scene. As of 7 a.m. at least two lanes have been reopened. One person involved died on scene; their name as not been released.
