For Sale: This Castle With Its Own Moat, Drawbridge And Dungeon

You can buy yourself a castle near Oak Glen for a mere $849,000, which is a deep discount considering the hulking monstrosity was originally listed for $4.9 million a few years ago.

This castle has all of the castle amenities: a moat, a drawbridge, an occasionally snowy courtyard for distant gazes, a tower for brooding, an apple orchard for strolling with your enemy while trading veiled insults, and a dungeon. It's so hard to put a dungeon in a pre-fab that has the right hopeless vibe, ya know? It sits on 7.5 acres, according to the listing.

The castle was built in 1987—so it's not exactly authentic—and some of the rooms have a more modern and less Medieval feel. It contains four bedrooms and four baths spread among four fours, as well as an outdoor bathroom in the event that you should throw an event, such as a wedding or a Game of Thrones LARP.

If you're wondering why a castle is going for millions less than the owner originally intended, it's because the seller is aging and his knees no longer allow him to climb up and down all those stairs so he wants to sell as soon as possible, according to SFGate. (Or it's mad haunted, who can be sure?)

J.R. Allgower, the listing agent, said the owner was inspired to build himself a castle after taking a trip to England.
