"In a year that has been so improbable," Vin Scully intoned on the national NBC broadcast of Game 1 of the 1988 World Series when Kirk Gibson hit the walk off homer off of Oakland Athletics closer Dennis Eckersley.

This Dodger season has also been improbable from the team with high expectations who failed miserably only to go on miraculous run to become World Series favorites.

And after the Dodgers beat the Miami Marlins 6-0 comes news that Vin Scully will return. Yes.

Bill Shaikin of the LA Times reports that Scully will return for his 65th season as a Dodger broadcaster.
