It wasn't the first game of the season. It wasn't Thanksgiving. It wasn't Sunday against the Portland Trail Blazers. It's not tonight in Sacramento. Kobe Bryant will return to the Lakers on Sunday against the Toronto Raptors.

Of course, it wouldn't be a Lakers or a Kobe Bryant production without a little melodrama. So of course, there is a video:

The last we saw of Kobe was on April 12 against the Golden State Warriors when he tore his left Achilles tendon as pictured above. He had played 45 minutes in the game. In fact he played more than 40 minutes in his last seven games of last season as the Lakers fought for a playoff spot.

The Lakers did make the playoffs but were swept by the San Antonio Spurs in the first round. Kobe had surgery two days later, and 240 days later he will be back on the court.

It should also be noted that Kobe did score 81 points on Toronto once upon a time.
