Video: Jimmy Kimmel Hopes That He's the Reason Jay Leno is Leaving 'The Tonight Show'
It seems like everyone is weighing in on the upcoming departure of Jay Leno form "The Tonight Show," and the latest person to get in on the action is Leno's nemesis, Jimmy Kimmel.
In an interview with CNN, Kimmel addresses the fact that he recently moved to the same time slot as Leno, and notes that he "hopes" that that's part of the reason for Leno's leaving. When interviewer Jake Tapper asks whether that could be the case, Kimmel replies:
"God, I hope so! I really -- I don’t know. I mean, I have no idea. I mean, well, obviously, NBC is looking to move on, because they did it once already. This would be the second time that this has happened. So I mean, it makes perfect sense."
The Hollywood Reporter notes that Kimmel hasn't made his hatred for Leno a secret, donning fake chins and skewering him at every possible moment.
