Video: Here's Your First Look At Nickelodeon's 'Rocko's Modern Life' Reboot
Holy fishsticks, fellow children of the '90s: Nickelodeon has released the first footage from their forthcoming Rocko's Modern Life reboot. The classic animated series is coming back for a special TV movie after going off the air in 1996.
During a Comic-Con panel on Thursday, the network gave a first look at what it will be like when Rocko, Heffer, and the gang return 21 years after going off the air.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the idea behind the TV special is that Rocko, Heffer, and Filbert were blasted into space in 1996 (the year the show ended), and have finally returned to earth in the present day. As the synopsis continues, "Rocko has trouble accepting this 21st century modern life, while Heffer and Filburt embrace every aspect of new technology, social media and the endless diversity of food trucks. Rocko whole-heartedly believes that his nostalgia for the past can save him from the tortures of the modern world.”
Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling is set to air in 2018, The entire cast, as well as show creator Joe Murray, will return, and Adventure Time's Steve Little will also lend his voice. See the video above for a sneak peek at what's to come.
Nickelodeon also has reboot specials in the works for Hey Arnold! And Invader Zim.
