TV Junkie: Tuesday
The Wall Street Journal reports that Netflix has struck a deal with CBS and Disney to distribute their content over the internet after their original air date. Do they really think that Netflix will do a better job at this than Hulu? C'mon, why can't we centralize the content a bit more instead of forcing us to deal with your different delivery methods and interfaces.
"90210" haters will have more to hate as the revamped series on The CW has been picked up for the full season. As if that weren't enough, Shannon Doherty is gracing the cover of Radarand pouting at you from every newsstand. If only it was poutine and not pouting.
Even though late night is new on all channels tonight, its all old guests: do I really want to see Julianne Moore, Dane Cook, Jason Kasinski, and the Kings of Leon again? Have we run out of new and interesting people to talk to?
The TV Junkie plan: "House" (because of Hugh); "Unbeatable Banzuke" (in case "House" sucks); "American Masters" (because LA should know how Warner Brothers got founded); "The Shield" (because Vic is slowly getting boiled, like that frog Al Gore talks about).
8:00pm Opportunity Knocks ABC - Series Premiere.
8:00pm NCIS CBS - Season Premiere
8:00pm 90210 The CW - As opening night of "Spring Awakening'' nears, Ty reveals his plans for an after party
8:00pm House FOX - House and the team investigate a string of deaths centering around a single organ donor
8:30pm Unbeatable Banzuke G4 - Like a pierrot 5; thunder dome
9:00pm American Masters: The Warner Bros. Story (1923-1950) PBS/KCET - Four brothers incorporate their new motion picture company on April 4, 1923; after World War II, films reflect the off-screen anxiety of blacklists.
9:00pm The Mentalist CBS - Series Premiere.
9:00pm Eureka Sci Fi - Summer Finale
10:00pm The Rachel Zoe Project Bravo - Rachel and the entire gang heads to New York where she visits with her good friend, designer Marc Jacobs!
10:00pm Pam: Girl on the Loose E! - Season Finale. But why not "series finale"?
10:00pm The Shield FX - The gang war erupts in unexpected ways that Vic cannot control; Dutch and Billings' homicide investigation grows into something more disturbing.
10:00pm Without a Trace CBS - Season Premiere
10:00pm Law & Order: Special Victims Unit NBC - Season Premiere

At LAist, we believe in journalism without censorship and the right of a free press to speak truth to those in power. Our hard-hitting watchdog reporting on local government, climate, and the ongoing housing and homelessness crisis is trustworthy, independent and freely accessible to everyone thanks to the support of readers like you.
But the game has changed: Congress voted to eliminate funding for public media across the country. Here at LAist that means a loss of $1.7 million in our budget every year. We want to assure you that despite growing threats to free press and free speech, LAist will remain a voice you know and trust. Speaking frankly, the amount of reader support we receive will help determine how strong of a newsroom we are going forward to cover the important news in our community.
We’re asking you to stand up for independent reporting that will not be silenced. With more individuals like you supporting this public service, we can continue to provide essential coverage for Southern Californians that you can’t find anywhere else. Become a monthly member today to help sustain this mission.
Thank you for your generous support and belief in the value of independent news.
