TV Junkie: 'Nurse Jackie' Season 2 Premiere Event - Interviews with Edie Falco, Peter Facinelli, & Cast

Congress has cut federal funding for public media — a $3.4 million loss for LAist. We count on readers like you to protect our nonprofit newsroom. Become a monthly member and sustain local journalism.

Interviews with 'Nurse Jackie' cast members for Season 2 Premiere from Thomas Attila Lewis on Vimeo.

To kick off the second season of their popular series "Nurse Jackie", Showtime held a charity fundraiser in NYC's Gotham Hall. The "Nurse Jackie" Rx Games was an invite to watch real nurses from NY Presbyterian, Mt. Sinai, Sloan Kettering, NYU Medical Center and St. Vincent's and nursing students from Columbia Medical School, NYU College of Nursing and Hunter/Bellevue race against the clock as they competed in a course consisting of fun, medical-themed activities for $50,000 for their preferred charity with proceeds to benefit The American Cancer Society, The Michael J. Fox Foundation, Leukemia & Lymphoma Foundation and Amber Watch among others.

At the event we managed to grab a few minutes to talk about the upcoming season with cast members Peter Facinelli, Edie Falco, Merritt Wever, Stephen Wallem, Lenny Jacobsen, and Arjun Gupta. Season 2 of "Nurse Jackie" begins tonight at 10pm on Showtime.

We've seen the first several episodes and, as Edie Falco puts it in the above video, things get very complicated around Jackie Peyton: man trouble, addiction trouble, trouble with the kids, etc. - and she's not the only one experiencing complications. Peter Facinelli's Dr. Cooper gets into even more (highly comedic) hot water and supporting cast members Lenny Jacobsen and Arjun Gupta begin to see their characters' involvement expand considerably.

It's a great show that can't be classified - we hope you check it out if you aren't already a fan. If you haven't been watching the reruns over the past few weeks, be sure to tune in tonight from the very beginning as the synopsis will quickly get you back on track. "Nurse Jackie", 10pm on Showtime.

As Editor-in-Chief of our newsroom, I’m extremely proud of the work our top-notch journalists are doing here at LAist. We’re doing more hard-hitting watchdog journalism than ever before — powerful reporting on the economy, elections, climate and the homelessness crisis that is making a difference in your lives. At the same time, it’s never been more difficult to maintain a paywall-free, independent news source that informs, inspires, and engages everyone.

Simply put, we cannot do this essential work without your help. Federal funding for public media has been clawed back by Congress and that means LAist has lost $3.4 million in federal funding over the next two years. So we’re asking for your help. LAist has been there for you and we’re asking you to be here for us.

We rely on donations from readers like you to stay independent, which keeps our nonprofit newsroom strong and accountable to you.

No matter where you stand on the political spectrum, press freedom is at the core of keeping our nation free and fair. And as the landscape of free press changes, LAist will remain a voice you know and trust, but the amount of reader support we receive will help determine how strong of a newsroom we are going forward to cover the important news from our community.

Please take action today to support your trusted source for local news with a donation that makes sense for your budget.

Thank you for your generous support and believing in independent news.
