Weekend Edition

Seth Myers gets interviewed by Martha Stewart after she has him do some chores on her farm in Connecticut in this Sunday's "Men Who Make Us Laugh" on Hallmark at 8pm
If you're a fan of HBO's "Eastbound & Down" (and if you are you should see our interviews with the cast and producers at PaleyFest) then you'll want to hear that co-producer of "Eastbound & Down," David Gordon Green, has just had a pilot picked up by Comedy Central. No idea on who will star in the show about a special ops agent who attempts to adapt to normal life after being decommissioned or when the show will be aired, but we're intrigued.

In between all the basketball this weekend, when your teams lose and you're out of the running in your pool, there's some good TV to be had. We suggest that you check out Sunday's lineup with season finales of "Californication" which will make you wonder how they could possibly do another season, and the "Shameless" season finale, a series which seemed to take a bit of a serious turn last week with some potential statutory rape and grand theft auto for members of the Gallagher clan. Then we'll try to catch HBO's "Mildred Pierce," which seems like a strange program: a mini-series of a novel that had previously been iconically brought to life as a Joan Crawford film. However the story is told, it's on HBO so it's sure to be lavish.

But even before all that, we suggest you check out the Hallmark channel.... What's that, you say? Yes, the Hallmark channel, which will feature the best show that Martha Stewart has come up with since her less than successful move to the network. "Men Who Make Us Laugh" will feature Conan O'Brien and Seth Myers in its first of what is supposed to be several editions. We've seen some leaked quotes from O'Brien and Myers and it looks like it will be a great program, seeing these notoriously private guys answer questions and do chores with Martha.

Happy day for "Fringe" fans, Fox has renewed the series despite moving it from one day to another over the past year, which is usually the death-knell for a show. "Fringe" airs tonight at 9pm.

If anyone saw any of Jen Kirkman's LA shows this last week, please drop us a note here to let us know what you thought. We're going to see her perform next week. Also, last night on "Chelsea Lately," Chelsea Handler announced that Kirkman would be rejoining the show fulltime which is great news.
