Venice Beach's "The Luminaries" and Hermosa Beach's Guido Corleone are putting on a rap show. Two great musicians who are still able to bring the ruckus. Come get flexified by the sonic beats that will destroy your soul. This is your chance to show that you are down for the cuase, and actually hear something new for once in your pathetic life. Laist commands it!<

From the event's myspace page:

jewelzdagod celebrates his birthday. This will be a classic B-boy event, you can rock your backpacks, pull your caps down low, timberlands and sneakers are allowed. Ladies come as you are, you have nuthin to make up for. Special guest performances LUMINARIES, GUIDO CORLEONE, JHA VOICE, STIXDADREAD, LIBRA PROJECT, SANDBLOOM, COLUMBO BLACK, & MORE

Laist happens to have been to the gabah, and can confirm it's a down-as-fuck establishment, and any decent hip hop head will feel right at home. This isn't your typical weekend warrior, shiny shirt loser on steriods type of place. If you're coming looking for girls, be ready for graffiti writing B-girls who can freestle battle rap you to pieces.

bon apetite

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Instead, we answer to you and our connected community. We are free to tell the full truth, to hold power to account without fear or favor, and to follow facts wherever they lead. Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive from readers like you will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
