Hide From The Paparazzi In TMZ Honcho Harvey Levin's Rental

This story is free to read because readers choose to support LAist. If you find value in independent local reporting, make a donation to power our newsroom today.

TMZ Managing Editor Harvey Levin has put his home up for rent, and one major selling point is that this Hollywood Hills pad is secured to prevent prying eyes, like those of his own staff.

Previously for sale for $5.3 million, Levin's three-bedroom house is now for rent at $20K/month, the L.A. Times reports. Built in 1937, the 3,000-square-foot home at 1136 Doheny Drive comes furnished and has a pool, spa and an over-sized fireplace. To protect renters from intrusion, the listing cites the following security features: "gates, hedges, no one “looking in” from above."

Miley Cyrus or Justin Bieber should rent this house, just to see if TMZ can figure out a way to get a shot of them in a swimsuit in that pool.

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Instead, we answer to you and our connected community. We are free to tell the full truth, to hold power to account without fear or favor, and to follow facts wherever they lead. Our only loyalty is to our audiences and our mission: to inform, engage, and strengthen our community.

Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive from readers like you will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
