Trailer: Leo Hopes Unfortunate Beard Gets Him That Oscar In 'The Revenant'
Leonardo DiCaprio, who has been nominated five times for the Best Actor Oscar but walked away empty-handed every time, has debased himself to the point of sporting a beard even Orson Welles would be ashamed of. That's how badly he wants that golden statue, people. This is what we've done to him after he was totally ignored when we gave everyone in Titanic an Oscar except for him.
The Revenant, the latest from Birdman director Alejandro González Iñárritu, also stars Mad Max's Tom Hardy in a 19th century tale of revenge. According to The Verge, Leo stars as a fur trapper who is seeking frontier justice after his friends leave him to die after a bear attack. Epic!
It's worth noting that, although Iñárritu's Birdman was the big winner at the most recent Oscars, its star Michael Keaton did not take home his own prize. Good luck, Leo!
The Revenant is slated to hit theaters this Christmas.
