Stephen Baldwin Says Hollywood Loves Scientology More Than Jesus
Look, no one is going to deny that Scientology is rampant in Hollywood. It's not entirely clear how or why it has such a death grip on so many actors and actresses in town, but it does.
Despite the stigma that the religion carries, though, many of them have perfectly successful careers. But Stephen Baldwin recently claimed that the same kindness and tolerance (such as it is) is not extended to those in the business who love them some Jesus.
Speaking to Rob Shuter of The Huffington Post, Baldwin -- an evangelical Christian -- said, “Scientology is much more accepted in Hollywood than Jesus...If you just look at Tom Cruise’s career against Kirk Cameron, you can see it."
Baldwin also somewhat cryptically said, "When you talk about subjects like abortions and rape, you are hitting hot buttons...It’s challenging people to ask themselves, what would you do in a certain situation?"
Yes, Stephen, what would you do if you found out that you were pregnant after being raped?
Hot button issues, indeed.
