Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to get through this thing called "April." Electric guitars, April. It means 21 days and that's a mighty long time. But I'm here to tell you.. there's something else. May.A world of never ending Purpledom, you can always see the tush, day or night. So when you call up that shrink in Beverly Hills, you know the one, Dr. Hook-Me-Up-With-Tickets-To-The-Show. Instead of asking him how much of your time is left. Ask him to bill insurance for your parking costs, baby.

Cause in this spring, things are much harder than in the afterworld. In this season, you're on your own. Except for the 21 days Prince is playing in town. You are definitely not alone.

Following the success of winter residencies in New York, the artist formerly known as the artist formerly known as Prince will be taking his time in Los Angeles with a 21-day residency beginning with his own personal Coachella, kicking off the marathon of shows on April 14 (with the New Power Generation) for rockers not trekking to the desert.

According to the LA Times, word from Camp Purple is that not all shows are for sure a lock at the Forum and that a forthcoming press release will detail ticket and venue information about the first six appearances.

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Instead, we answer to you and our connected community. We are free to tell the full truth, to hold power to account without fear or favor, and to follow facts wherever they lead. Our only loyalty is to our audiences and our mission: to inform, engage, and strengthen our community.

Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive from readers like you will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
