Playboy Settles With Model Who Got Hit In The Butt With A Golf Club
Playboy has settled with a model who says that the bruise she got—when their radio host tried to hit a golf ball off her butt—left her with permanent injuries.
On March 30, 2012, Liz Dickson was invited by Playboy to help host a golf tournament at a course in the City of Industry. During the event, Playboy radio host Kevin Klein attempted to hit a golf ball off a tee wedged between Dickson's buttocks, and in the process struck her right buttock. Dickson sued in 2014 for $500,000, claiming she "sustained severe bodily injuries, a portion of which are permanent." On Monday her attorney told a judge that Dickson had reached a settlement with Playboy Enterprises for an undisclosed sum, reports City News Service.
TMZ published a video of the incident and a photo that shows the bruise that later developed (warning, it's really gnarly), and her attorney said that the strike damaged hip ligaments and nerves.
The suit says Dickson agreed to pose with Klein while she lay on the ground "with her buttocks partially exposed" and a golf ball placed on her butt, but that it was "expected" that only a photograph be taken. However, "without her permission or consent," Klein teed off on the model.
An audio recording of the incident reveals that Klein asked Dickson, "Would you allow me to place a golf ball on a tee in your butt right now and attempt to tee off a shot down this first fairway?" At first Dickson seems hesitant, but later says, "What did I get myself into?" while lying on the ground.
In a foreboding moment, Klein also says to Dickson, "I feel awful because you probably have a nice butt and I'd hate to bruise it."

Video shows Dickson laughing after getting hit. But hey, sometimes the pain doesn't show up until much, much later.
Dickson never posed for the magazine, but in 2011 was named "Girl of Playboy Golf."
