Nearly three weeks after disclosing that she had a double mastectomy to lower her risk of breast cancer, Angelina Jolie made her first public appearance. She accompanied partner Brad Pitt at the London premiere of his zombie movie, World War Z. She said, "I'm here for Brad. I'm so proud of him."

Jolie did address her headline-generating decision (which she revealed through a NY Times op-ed), "I've been very happy just to see the discussion about women's health expanded and that means the world to me. After losing my mom to these issues, I'm very grateful for it and I've been very moved by the support from people."

PItt told BBC News that it was a very "moving experience" for the family and said Jolie was "the bravest... I get a little emotional thinking about it." (He previously called her "absolutely heroic.")

According to the Daily Mail, Jolie, wearing a Yves. St Laurent black silk gown, spent 20 minutes signing autographs: "One fan handed her a fluffy teddy and later she gave it to Sophie Martinez, aged four, who promptly burst into tears. 'It's a nice teddy', Angelina told her soothingly."
