Truth matters. Community matters. Your support makes both possible. LAist is one of the few places where news remains independent and free from political and corporate influence. Stand up for truth and for LAist. Make your year-end tax-deductible gift now.

L.A.'s favorite octogenarian, Hugh Hefner, has confirmed via photographic evidence that he's back together with his one-time runaway bride, Crystal Harris. Hef tweeted a picture of himself with the 26-year-old blonde from yesterday's Fourth of July festivities at the Playboy Mansion.

Harris and Hefner, you'll of course recall, were engaged to be married in 2011. Harris broke off the engagement five days before the wedding, the timing of which conveniently coincided with the release of an issue of Playboy featuring her on the cover, allowing for just enough time to slap a bunch of "Runaway Bride" stickers on the magazine before it made its way to newsstands.

The couple had a difficult break-up, with Harris shit-talking Hef's ability to perform in the bedroom to Howard Stern, but that apparently didn't stop the Playboy founder from taking her back, which he did in June of this year.

It's a tangled web we weave.

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Instead, we answer to you and our connected community. We are free to tell the full truth, to hold power to account without fear or favor, and to follow facts wherever they lead. Our only loyalty is to our audiences and our mission: to inform, engage, and strengthen our community.

Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive before year-end will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
