There are a number of interesting events tonight in LA, including a cocktail crafting session in Beverly Hills; a printmaking workshop at CAFAM; a book signing with Jeanne Cooper of The Young and the Restless; a DVD signing with Ziggy Marley and his sister Karen; and Jesca Hoop takes to the Largo stage. Read on for all the details.

COCKTAIL CLASS*
Beverly Hills’ Cocktail Week kicks-off with a cocktail crafting course beginning tonight (or Thursday) in Greystone Estate’s underground speakeasy. The class is co-sponsored by the city and the Institute of Domestic Technology and taught by master mixologist Aaron Stepka of the 1933 Group (Thirsty Crow, Bigfoot East and West, Oldfield’s, Little Cave). The session focuses on bitters and infusions, and at the end of each class, each student takes home his or her own custom-mixed bitters, bottle of infused liquor and a personalized cocktail recipe. Register online or call 310.285.5860. Price: $119 ($95 for Bev Hills residents).

PRINTMAKING
The Craft and Folk Art Museum (CAFAM) holds Community Printmaking Sessions with Holly Jerger on Tuesday nights in August from 6:30-9:30 pm. Both experts and novices are welcome to join and learn about printmaking in a space that provides basic supplies and casual instruction. A small etching press and letterpress are also available for use. For ages 17 years and older. RSVP requested to (323) 937-4230 x28 or workshops@cafam.org. Cost per session: $20/$15 CAFAM members.

MARLEY
Tonight from 6-8 pm, the Best Buy on Pico in West LA welcomes Ziggy Marley and his sister Karen Marley for a meet-and-greet that celebrates today’s Blu-ray and DVD release of Marley, “the definitive documentary” on reggae superstar Bob Marley. Fans who buy a copy of the DVD today are eligible to participate in the autograph signing (which, of course, is on a first-come, first-served basis).

SOAP LIT
Veteran soap actress Jeanne Cooper discusses and signs Not Young, Still Restless: A Memoir tonight at Book Soup at 7 pm. For more than 30 years, Cooper has played matriarch Kay Chancellor on the daytime drama The Young and the Restless. She’ll talk about her small-town upbringing and her work in feature film, acting alongside Maureen O'Hara, Raymond Burr, David Janssen, Robert Taylor, Tony Curtis, Shelley Winters, Glenn Ford and others, before hitting her stride on Y&R. Her memoir also delves into her life as a single mom to three kids (including Corbin Bernsen) as well as her battles with alcoholism, breast cancer and aging in Hollywood. (Her character's [and her own] facelift was filmed live on The Young and the Restless.)

MUSIC
Tonight Largo welcomes singer-songwriter Jesca Hoop and special guest Jesse Harris for an 8 pm show. She celebrates her recently released album The House that Jack Built. Now, remember it’s Largo, so no talking during the show and no late-entry. Doors open at 6:30 pm for drinks. Tickets available online only: $25.
