Art Walk
It's sort of like a mini Downtown Art Walk, but it's not Thursday. Tonight is the preview night of Art Seen 3's auction gala on May 17th that will benefit the AIDS Research Alliance. Unlike this weekend's event, tonight is free and is a block party on Main St. between 3rd and 4th Streets.

Some 200 pieces will be showcased along with bands playing on the street. You can also get free HIV testing. Afterwards, there's a party at The Standard starting at 10 p.m.

6:00 - 10:00 p.m. // Main St. (b/w 3rd & 4th) // Free

Classical Music
Ripped from the program notes: "For regular concertgoers accustomed to the prevailing formulas by which programs are assembled, tonight's musical selections should look very much like a shuffle play sequence from an eclectic playlist..." Bach, Schubert and Schumann at their best.

8:00 p.m. // Chamber Music with Eric Owens // Walt Disney Concert Hall // $22-47

Taco Tuesdays
Beer pong, $10 pitchers of beer, $1 tacos? Need we say more?

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Instead, we answer to you and our connected community. We are free to tell the full truth, to hold power to account without fear or favor, and to follow facts wherever they lead. Our only loyalty is to our audiences and our mission: to inform, engage, and strengthen our community.

Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive from readers like you will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
