Lil Wayne Is In A Coma After Having Several Seizures [UPDATED]

This has been a terrible week for Lil Wayne: the rapper was rushed to the hospital twice this week after suffering from multiple seizures but his most recent trip seems particularly serious. He is currently in the ICU at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, and he has been put in an induced coma, TMZ reports. He is in critical condition and is unstable.
The 30-year-old rapper was in Los Angeles shooting a music video for Nicki Minaj's new single "High School." He had multiple seizures on Tuesday night and was rushed to the hospital. He was released Wednesday but then hours later his bodyguards found him on the floor of his room unconscious, and he was rushed to the hospital again. He had to be placed in restraints because he was shaking uncontrollably.
There's evidence he was sipping on Sizzurp, because he had a lot of codeine in his system and his stomach had to be pumped three times, TMZ says.
It sounds like a dramatic scene: Lil Wayne is shaking violently while family members and fellow rap artists are crying at his bedside.
Wayne had seizures in two separate incidents in October, according to USA TODAY. His doctors put him on anti-seizure medicine and told him to drink a lot of water, and the rapper told MTV that he's, well, mostly following the doc's orders.
UPDATE 6 pm: TMZ says Lil Wayne's mom is on a plane to Los Angeles and all decisions about his health are on hold until she arrives.
In the meantime, Wayne's friends are saying that TMZ's reporting is overblown:
@TMZ it's certain shit you should not talk about or play with if u don't kno what u talking bout....don't deceive the fans or the people

UPDATE 6:45 pm: A tweet was sent out from his account at 6:28 pm saying he's okay:
I'm good everybody. Thx for the prayers and love.

But TMZ says Wayne is in critical condition, though he is stabilizing right now. They say despite the tweet that was sent out Wayne is actually sleeping.
